Data Architect

About the role

EY is looking for a Data Architect to join its Consulting practice, which is part of the Europe Central cluster and serves organisations across Cyprus and internationally. The role defines and advises clients on data strategies and target-state architectures, and leads the design of modern data and analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and advise clients on data strategies and target-state architectures.
• Design modern data and analytics solutions using cloud technologies.
• Review solution designs, technical specifications and project requirements against architectural best practices.
• Lead the design of data architectures covering data integration, data modelling, data warehousing and lakehouse solutions.
• Assess and recommend technologies for data management, analytics and AI-driven solutions.
• Define the scope, approach and high-level architecture for data transformation initiatives.
• Work with business and technical stakeholders to turn requirements into scalable, sustainable solutions.
• Carry out architecture assessments and identify optimisation and modernisation opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Solution Architect or similar role.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, architecture documentation or solution proposals.
• Ability to work across business and technical teams and explain complex concepts clearly.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Modern data architecture patterns: Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse and Data Mesh.
• Data modelling, data integration and analytics architectures.
• Cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
• Plus: financial sector knowledge (insurance or banking), enterprise architecture frameworks, certifications, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or BigQuery, and lean/agile experience.
