Staff/Lead SDET Engineer - Test Automation Platform

About the role

Total Battle, a massive MMO 4X strategy game on mobile and web, is shifting its testing paradigm so that automated testing becomes a daily, self-service engineering tool. The Staff/Lead SDET takes technical ownership of the internal test automation tooling and empowers product QA teams to build their own checks, manage test states and run tests in CI/CD. The candidate works in Limassol.

Key responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for QA tooling, evolve its architecture and implement key solutions
• Build domain APIs, fixtures and state-preparation tools for integration/component testing over existing SDKs
• Extend client UI automation and enable sub-UI checks for specific client methods
• Unify local and CI execution paths across Android and WebGL
• Build diagnostic tools to help QA engineers distinguish product, test, tooling and infrastructure failures
• Translate QA needs into testability requirements and set technical contracts with client/backend teams
• Promote tool adoption through pilots, documentation and feedback, and help define roles and support hiring/onboarding

Required profile

• Hands-on technical leader comfortable with long-term ownership of internal platforms
• Regularly writes, debugs and maintains Python code for libraries, frameworks, SDKs or internal tools
• Has designed or substantially evolved a framework/SDK used by multiple teams
• Knows how to build stable public APIs over existing SDKs
• Has driven testability capabilities with backend, client or framework teams
• Deep hands-on experience in at least one of: client/UI automation (drivers, custom UI, synchronization, sub-UI checks) or backend/integration tooling (Python clients/SDKs, protocols, sessions, fixtures, test state)

• Nice to have: Selenium, Appium, Playwright, XCUITest, Android ADB, iOS infrastructure, async Python, Pydantic, mypy, schema-based code generation, Unity/Cocos/WebGL, legacy automation modernization
