WordPress & Next.js Developer

About the role

An international iGaming IT company, founded in 2014 and originally based in the CIS region, is looking for a WordPress and Next.js developer in Nicosia. The role covers building custom WordPress themes and plugins, and developing frontend with Next.js while WordPress acts as a headless CMS.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins, build Gutenberg blocks and work with ACF, CPTs and taxonomies
• Integrate third-party services and develop REST APIs
• Maintain multilingual projects and handle hreflang
• Build landing pages and migrate projects to a headless setup
• Implement SEO: metadata, Open Graph, schema.org, sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical, hreflang, and Core Web Vitals
• Set up affiliate tracking and integrate third-party services
• Work with the SEO team on technical optimisation, use Git, review code and document solutions

Required profile

• PHP and solid understanding of WordPress (hooks, filters, template hierarchy, plugins)
• Experience developing custom themes and plugins
• Experience with multilingual websites
• Experience using AI tools and agents in development
