Software Engineer (React.js) - Junior, Mid or Senior

About the role

FIS is looking for a Software Engineer to craft and integrate UI components using React.js within its React Core Development team. The team builds modern web applications with React on the front end and Java Spring Boot on the back end, working across the full software development lifecycle. Applications are welcome from candidates at Junior, Mid-Level and Senior levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high-quality code for products, independently or with guidance depending on experience, and take responsibility for the quality of your work.
• Investigate and resolve client software issues and support the client software life cycle.
• Identify and fix code deficiencies, escalating or proposing alternatives when appropriate.
• Support project and product implementations at client premises or on AWS.
• Apply coding standards; at senior level, help improve and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate in code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge sharing; seniors may mentor less experienced colleagues.

Required profile

• Degree in an IT-related subject such as Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent practical experience.
• Junior: solid software development foundation and relevant academic, internship or professional experience.
• Senior: substantial professional experience delivering production software with React.js, typically 4+ years, able to own complex work independently and contribute to technical design.

Required skills

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and Java with the Spring Boot framework.
• Knowledge of databases and cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• React.js, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, with RESTful API integration and front-end build tools.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Bonus: TypeScript, modern React state management or data-fetching libraries, web accessibility, Jest or React Testing Library, and application security and observability.
