Senior Software Engineer - International Delivery Team

About the role

FIS is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for its International Delivery Team, based in Cyprus. The team delivers PRIME, a payments platform used by hundreds of banks and financial institutions worldwide, working with international banking clients to modernize payment ecosystems, integrate with industry networks and support migrations from legacy platforms. The role uses cloud-native technologies, AWS, Kubernetes, microservices, DevOps practices and AI-enabled development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-quality software solutions within the PRIME payments platform.
• Lead and support large-scale client implementations, including integration, deployment and customer onboarding.
• Work with international banking clients and internal stakeholders on business and technology transformation initiatives.
• Support integration with external systems, payment networks, digital channels and third-party solutions, including data migration and certification activities.
• Promote engineering excellence through quality, automation, continuous improvement and compliance.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives with cloud-native technologies, microservices, containerization, DevOps and AI-assisted development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, payments, banking technology or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work with technical teams and customer representatives in a delivery-focused environment.

Required skills

• Java or C++ with object-oriented design and development.
• Enterprise application development with Spring Boot, relational databases, SQL and REST APIs.
• Added value: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins), frontend technologies (React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) or Oracle PL/SQL.
• Added value: payments industry experience (card issuing/acquiring, payment networks, tokenization, digital wallets, Visa, Mastercard, real-time payments).

• Salary range of EUR 34,000 to EUR 45,000 depending on skills, experience and location.
