Senior Project Manager - Financial Technology

About the role

FIS is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join PRIME Implementation Services, an international team delivering complex implementation and migration programmes for clients worldwide. As Senior Project Manager you will give hands-on leadership to mid to large-scale, complex financial technology projects from initiation through delivery and closeout, leading delivery across several business segments and shared-service functions under commercial and contractual commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex global projects and programmes across the full project lifecycle, working with clients, internal teams and external partners.
• Gather, analyse and validate business requirements and turn them into fit-for-purpose solutions and implementation strategies.
• Establish and maintain project and programme baselines, with governance, monitoring and control within agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executive sponsors, and foster client satisfaction.
• Apply project and programme management practices and frameworks to strengthen governance and mitigate risks.
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, covering resource planning, prioritisation, reporting, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement and change control.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, MIS or a related discipline, or equivalent education, training and experience.
• At least 4 years of project or programme management experience, with a track record of delivering complex IT or financial technology projects.
• Strong software implementation experience and understanding of application development methods and the software development lifecycle, ideally in banking, payments or financial services.
• Experience managing projects under commercial and contractual constraints, with governance, financial management and reporting.
• Ability to lead multinational, virtual, cross-functional teams and handle multiple concurrent client engagements.
• Excellent written and verbal English, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to travel and work with global clients across time zones.

Required skills

• Advanced project management: planning, estimation, budgeting, forecasting, resource management, risk and issue management, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Creating project plans, RAID logs, status reports, dashboards and governance documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Added value: PMI PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification; card management, payment processing or banking technology implementations; Payments industry experience.
