Software Engineer (Military Leave Cover, Part-Time)

About the role

Playtech's Billing Tech Team is looking for a proactive Software Engineer to join on a part-time basis as Military Leave Cover. The role covers the development and maintenance of Python-based applications, frontend and backend features, and participation in all stages of the software development lifecycle, working closely with experienced engineers and internal stakeholders. Regular office presence is required during the probation period; afterwards the role moves to a hybrid model aligned with the part-time arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Python-based applications, collaborating on solution design and implementation
• Contribute to frontend and backend features
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code and create and maintain unit tests
• Assist with application monitoring, troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Take part in requirements discussions, solution design and technical documentation
• Provide technical support to internal users when needed

Required profile

• 2+ years of software development experience
• Hands-on Python development and software engineering best practices
• Experience with SQL and relational databases and web applications
• IT-related university degree or equivalent, or currently studying in a relevant field
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills and effective English communication
