Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Playtech, a gaming technology company listed on the London Stock Exchange, is looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer in Nicosia. The role drives the security posture of Playtech and its subsidiaries by ensuring the proper security design and operation of cloud environments in Azure or GCP (mainly IaaS and PaaS) for various services and applications. The engineer works closely with product teams to help build and maintain secure cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee cloud security governance and monitoring
• Maintain a Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) solution
• Collaborate with DevOps, IT, development and GRC teams to provide subject-matter expertise in the Google Cloud domain
• Support and maintain cloud-native security controls
• Conduct security reviews of cloud environments
• Develop documentation with security recommendations and best practices
• Identify gaps, missing controls and vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
• Stay current on emerging threats and cloud security controls
• Take part in incident investigations and responses
• Automate security-related tasks

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar technical security role
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / Google Workspace
• Strong knowledge of CSPM and DSPM solutions
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Spoken and written English and ability to work in an enterprise environment

Required skills

• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, architecture best practices, managed services, vulnerabilities and mitigations
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, containers and serverless (hands-on experience a plus)
• Basic scripting with Python or Shell
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and use of AI tools
• Broad IT and enterprise architecture knowledge (TCP/IP stack, firewall, proxy, Windows/Linux servers)
