Senior Non-Life Actuarial Consultant / Manager

About the role

EY is looking for an experienced non-life insurance actuary to join its growing actuarial team in Nicosia. The team works in the local insurance market and supports the delivery of actuarial solutions for the broader European and global actuarial network. The role covers traditional actuarial areas such as reserving, pricing and capital modelling, as well as projects on analytics, business steering, capital optimisation and actuarial and finance transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the technical delivery and reporting of projects, manage teams of actuarial consultants and take ownership of overall project delivery.
• Discuss with client contacts and manage expectations on delivery, content, timescales and cost.
• Present to clients at all levels, including senior executives and the board.
• Collaborate on non-actuarial led projects as a subject matter specialist where appropriate.
• Contribute to intellectual property that supports sales-oriented client interaction and assist in responding to client proposals.

Required profile

• A strong academic record, including a degree and professional actuarial qualifications (IFoA or similar, qualified or part-qualified).
• At least two years of experience in one or more of: claims reserving under different accounting bases, Solvency II technical provisions, Solvency II internal model review or validation, capital modelling, or IFRS 17 implementation support.
• Experience managing project teams and building an inclusive team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication, a strong quality ethic and a problem-solving approach.
• Desirable: experience in the London market or UK general insurance market, and use of actuarial software for reserving or capital modelling.
