Marine Procurement Officer

About the role

The Marine Procurement Officer ensures that vessels receive the goods and services they need safely and on time, while adhering to company policies and cost‑efficiency goals. You will act as the key liaison between ships, suppliers, and internal departments to manage the full purchase cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily purchasing activities and respond to vessel requisitions through the company’s purchasing system.
• Analyse requisitions, issue quotation requests to approved vendors, and manage quote comparisons considering cost, quality, and lead time.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders with complete details and obtain order confirmations from suppliers.
• Coordinate with suppliers, forwarders, and agents to ensure goods are ready at ports before vessel arrival.
• Follow up on invoices, collect supporting documentation, and facilitate timely invoice clearance.
• Communicate regularly with vessels, technical teams, category teams, and external stakeholders to resolve queries and prioritize deliveries.
• Support supervisors with escalations and role‑related challenges.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse procurement requests.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with vessels, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight delivery timelines.
