Accounting Supervisor

About the role

LGL is looking for an Accounting Supervisor in Nicosia. The role covers the daily accounting operations of the company, including invoicing, bank reconciliation, reconciliations, tax and VAT reporting, and month-end and year-end closing. The position is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Daily updates of the list of outstanding freight and analysis of incoming cost invoices
• Issue invoices for clients, rectification letters and handle all accounting entries
• Carry out freight and job audits, prepare inward and outward commissions, budget vs performance reports and monthly supplier and agent reconciliations
• Handle invoicing for all LGL agencies and follow up customer due balances via aging reports
• Record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries, manage cash accounts and verify accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements for the regional financial controller and GM
• Prepare employee-related taxes, VAT and VIES reports, and assist with the annual external audit
• Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries (depreciation, prepayments, provisions) and close sister company accounts
• Keep proper documentation of journal vouchers, file documents and stay compliant with IFRS and internal policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• 8-10 years of relevant experience
• Willingness to undergo initial training through departmental rotations
• Detail-oriented, patient, confident, organized and adaptable

Required skills

• IFRS knowledge and internationally recognized certifications are a plus
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good teamwork, communication and customer-centred approach
