Regional Safeguarding and Protection Advisor - MEER

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Regional Safeguarding and Protection Advisor for the Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEER) region, based in Nicosia. The role supports the regional office and its field offices in upholding safeguarding and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) policies, and in protecting children and adult project participants from exploitation and abuse. It is a local fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Enable field office Safeguarding Focal Points to succeed and keep the regional office safe for children and adults
• Build safeguarding capacity among field offices, including biennial refreshers, and advise programme and grant designs on safeguarding and PSEA
• Support compliance with the Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy, including national policies, complaints mechanisms, awareness materials and incident reporting obligations
• Help field offices prepare safeguarding incident plans, including referrals and reporting to authorities, and guide safeguarding self-assessments and action plans
• Organise safeguarding training and orientation for regional staff, interns, volunteers and board members, and coordinate partner safeguarding assessments
• Support responses to safeguarding incidents, including investigations and survivor-centred approaches, while promoting confidentiality
