IP Networks Engineer

About the role

Epic, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Cyprus, is seeking an IP Networks Engineer to join its Networks team. The role will involve designing, deploying, supporting and continuously developing the company’s IP network infrastructure across ISP backbone, mobile, FTTH and enterprise domains.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the design, deployment, support and dimensioning of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks, including ISP backbone, mobile, FTTH and enterprise infrastructures.
• Handle internal and external customer support requests and troubleshoot firewall and basic network security solutions.
• Assist with the design, implementation and support of interconnectivity with network elements such as BSC, RNC, MSS, MGW, UGW, MSAN, OLTs, BRAS and servers.
• Perform network monitoring, performance analysis, optimization reporting and maintain accurate documentation.
• Take part in an on‑call rotation for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Working experience on Huawei, Juniper or Cisco equipment.
• Experience with layer‑2 Ethernet technologies, SD‑WAN and IP/MPLS architectures.
• Knowledge of mobile networks, FTTH architectures and subscriber management protocols (RADIUS, PPPoE, DHCP).
• Good command of English and ability to work independently or within a team.

Required skills

• BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, RSVP, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Segment Routing, QoS/CoS, Traffic Engineering, IPv6.
• Firewall configuration, IPsec and VPN technologies.
• FTTH CPE management (TR‑069) and testing.
• Unix/Linux basics and familiarity with network monitoring systems (SNMP, statistical analysis).
