Financial Assistance Advisor

About the role

The Financial Assistance Advisor supports students and parents by managing all types of university financial aid, including need‑based aid, merit scholarships, and externally funded donations or loans. Reporting to the Head of Admissions and Financial Aid, the advisor ensures compliance with university policies while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess financial assistance applications, award aid in line with policy, and maintain confidentiality.
• Develop and update financial aid procedures, forecast expenditures, and prepare statistical reports.
• Produce and maintain up‑to‑date publications, website content, and application materials.
• Respond to inquiries from students and parents via email, phone, or in person.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, Advancement, Comptroller, and IT to resolve aid‑related issues.
• Design and deliver workshops, information sessions, and occasional home visits.
• Support student recruitment and admissions activities, representing the university at events and guiding prospects through the enrollment process.

Required profile

• Experience in student financial assistance, financial aid administration, or related higher‑education support functions.
• Strong analytical skills for forecasting and reporting.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple university departments.
