Experienced AML Officer – Central Compliance Services, Nicosia

About the role

PwC is looking for an experienced AML officer to join its centralized Compliance Services team in the Nicosia office. The role plays a key part in conducting due diligence and supporting compliance within a multi-jurisdictional regulatory framework, applying international AML standards with expertise and judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform thorough AML/CFT due diligence and KYC profile reviews for new and existing clients, in line with Cyprus AML legal and regulatory requirements and PwC's internal policies.
• Carry out client risk assessments to identify, evaluate and mitigate AML/CFT risks.
• Identify suspicious client transactions and behaviors and escalate concerns for further investigation.
• Work with business units and client-facing teams to collect, review and validate onboarding documentation and KYC data.
• Manage and optimize KYC/AML onboarding procedures and monitor the automated systems and tools used by PwC.
• Train and guide junior team members and client-facing teams on KYC/AML compliance.
• Handle inquiries and ad-hoc requests from client-facing personnel.

Required profile

• University degree and/or master's degree in compliance and risk management, anti-corruption, corporate governance, law or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in AML/CFT regulatory compliance roles with an ICPAC/CySEC/Cyprus Bar Association regulated entity.
• Excellent command of Greek and English, written and spoken.
• Preferred: professional qualifications such as ACAMS or ICA Diploma in AML, and ICPAC or CySEC certificates.

Required skills

• Experience with KYC screening tools, compliance software and Microsoft Office.
• Attention to detail, analytical approach to risk assessment, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
