Data Privacy Counsel

About the role

The Data Privacy Counsel will join a fast‑growing tech company that delivers adult entertainment and gaming experiences on secure platforms. Reporting to the Data Privacy Director, the role supports the privacy team with audits, risk management, policy development, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis of global data‑privacy regulations and compile documentation to support compliance.
• Prepare guidance on business impacts of proposed privacy‑law changes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies, notices, controls, and internal procedures.
• Advise internal stakeholders on obligations under applicable privacy laws.
• Draft and review Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and perform DPIAs, LIAs, and other risk‑assessment activities.
• Maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and collaborate with security, product, and procurement teams.
• Conduct compliance audits, report identified risks, and analyze privacy‑by‑design effectiveness.
• Handle data‑subject requests and support the implementation of privacy‑compliance systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years experience in data protection, privacy, or related legal fields.
• Educational background in Law or a related discipline (e.g., Information Security, Computer Science).
• Strong knowledge of European data‑protection laws, especially GDPR, and familiarity with Canadian and U.S. privacy regulations.
