Legal Counsel

About the role

An established tech company offering adult entertainment and games is looking for a pragmatic, business-minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team. You will partner with teams across the organization to give practical legal guidance, support commercial initiatives and help manage legal risk in a fast-moving technology environment. The company has offices in Montreal, Austin and Nicosia, and a select number of positions require full-time in-office attendance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as services agreements, license agreements, NDAs, intercompany agreements and corporate documentation.
• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, technology and IP matters, including emerging technologies (AI, machine learning) and internet law.
• Support product, commercial and strategic initiatives by identifying legal risks and proposing solutions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare guidance on laws, regulations and emerging legal issues.
• Assist with discovery and due diligence for litigation, audits, financing and transactions.
• Support IP enforcement, including cease-and-desist letters and domain name disputes (e.g. GDPR).
• Monitor legal developments in AI, data privacy and internet law, and advise on EU regulatory frameworks and data protection obligations.
• Help develop contract templates, legal playbooks and internal processes.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of legal experience, ideally in commercial or corporate law with strong contract exposure.
• Law degree from an accredited institution and qualification to practice law in Cyprus, or eligibility to do so.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Greek.
• Ability to manage multiple matters at once and work with international teams across time zones.

Required skills

• Nice to have: experience with common law jurisdictions, EU regulatory frameworks (GDPR, digital services regulation), prior in-house experience in a technology company, and familiarity with AI, machine learning, blockchain or internet law issues.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
