Cultural Mediator (Arabic)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Cultural Mediator fluent in Arabic and English to support its mission in Nicosia, Cyprus. Working under the general supervision of the Chief of Mission and directly reporting to the National Project Officer, the mediator will help facilitate communication and cultural understanding between Arabic‑speaking migrants and service providers.

Key responsibilities

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least three years of relevant work experience, or a university degree with one year of relevant experience.
• Previous experience in a similar cultural mediation or multilingual support role.
• Fluency in Arabic and English (both oral and written); knowledge of Greek, French, Farsi or other IOM official languages is an advantage.
• Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Computer literacy in standard software applications.
