About the role
The Airfreight Operations Officer will lead the daily activities of the Airfreight Department, ensuring smooth handling of import and export shipments, accurate invoicing, and high‑quality customer service. This position supports operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Airfreight Department.
- Resolve operational issues related to import and export shipments.
- Review and approve invoicing, billing, and payment processes.
- Monitor shipment progress and ensure timely execution of freight operations.
- Guide and coordinate the operations team’s daily activities.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, airlines, overseas agents, warehouses, and logistics partners.
- Support business development and strengthen customer relationships.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, aviation regulations, and operational standards.
- Prepare operational reports and monitor departmental KPIs.
- Handle confidential business information with discretion.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflow efficiency.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in airfreight, freight forwarding or logistics operations.
- IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) certification is a strong advantage.
- Good knowledge of airfreight, freight forwarding and logistics operations.
- Experience with invoicing, shipment coordination and operational documentation.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management systems.
- Fluency in English; Greek is an advantage.
