AI-Native Java Developer

About the role

EY is looking for an AI‑Native Java Developer to join its Transformation Realized™ consulting practice. You will work on enterprise‑grade, cloud‑native applications, leveraging AI‑assisted development tools to deliver high‑quality software for clients across Cyprus and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices and APIs following cloud‑native architecture principles.
• Participate in application modernization, migration and refactoring initiatives.
• Utilize GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants and other agentic tools to improve productivity, code quality and documentation.
• Review, validate and refine AI‑generated code to ensure production readiness.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, event‑driven integrations and distributed system components using messaging platforms such as Kafka.
• Apply design patterns and architectural best practices to build resilient, scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing Java applications with Spring Boot in a cloud‑native environment.
• Familiarity with microservices, RESTful APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Comfort using AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and reviewing AI‑generated code.
• Experience with messaging/streaming technologies such as Kafka or equivalent.
