Tax Specialist

About the role

KPMG Cyprus is seeking experienced senior tax professionals to join its dynamic Tax Department. The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of local and international clients, develop expertise in direct and indirect tax, and progress towards a professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or ADIT.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work in line with KPMG’s professional standards and ISQM1 quality requirements.
• Apply direct tax principles to engagements and develop reliable recommendations for clients.
• Identify tax opportunities and risks, and make informed decisions on complex matters.
• Lead or contribute to project teams, delegating tasks and reviewing junior staff work.
• Stay current with developments in direct taxation and provide on‑the‑job training to team members.
• Report directly to the engagement partner or team leader and communicate technical issues with tax authorities.

Required profile

• University degree with at least a 2:1 grade (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of tax experience, preferably with strong knowledge of Cyprus tax legislation and international tax principles.
• Experience preparing all types of tax forms, returns, and professional reports.
• Holder of ADIT or similar qualification (ACA/ACCA/CPA) is an advantage.
• Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken).
• High business awareness, problem‑solving ability, honesty, integrity and a willingness to learn.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills with attention to detail.
