Senior Technical Program Manager – Complex Cross‑Team Programs

About the role

JetBrains is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the most complex cross‑team technical programs within its IDE department. You will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale initiatives that span product, engineering, quality, and service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex cross‑team technical programs, defining goals, scope, milestones, dependencies, and key decisions.
• Coordinate planning and execution, surface risks, blockers, and capacity issues early, and drive mitigation or escalation.
• Maintain accurate program status by verifying execution rather than merely collecting updates.
• Serve as the senior PMO‑side escalation point when delivery work becomes stuck.
• Build workable program plans, coordination cadences, and clarify resourcing needs.
• Coach and, where applicable, manage other TPMs or part‑time program leads.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, quality, and service teams without taking over their decision‑making authority.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading complex software programs or cross‑team initiatives from start to finish.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and to challenge assumptions constructively.
• Strong negotiation, facilitation, and escalation judgment.
• Experience managing multiple parallel initiatives, prioritising effectively, and keeping execution plans realistic.
• Experience coaching other program or project managers and improving execution quality.
