Senior Legal Counsel (Product and Business Development)

About the role

JetBrains, which makes intelligent software development tools used by millions of developers and teams, is expanding its AI initiatives and exploring new commercial models. It is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Product and Business Development legal team, working closely with Product, Go-to-Market, Business Development, Marketplace and University Relations teams to turn regulatory realities into practical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on the full life cycle of software products, services, plugins and AI features, from early concepts to retirement.
• Implement legal and regulatory requirements, including AI regulation and consumer protection.
• Draft, negotiate and advise on strategic technology, AI partnership and collaboration agreements.
• Support the Marketplace and relationships with third-party platforms, and guide the legal side of educational, academic and research initiatives.
• Improve legal operations by designing templates, playbooks and self-service resources.
• Equip sales and procurement legal teams with product expertise to negotiate customer and vendor agreements.
• Share knowledge across the legal team and the wider business.

Required profile

• Formal law degree (LLB, LLM, Mgr or equivalent).
• Extensive background advising multinational corporations on technology and commercial law.
• Proven track record of drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial and technology agreements.
• Deep understanding of software products, digital services and technology business models.
• Fluent English and the ability to negotiate and draft complex legal documents.
• Able to manage multiple complex tasks and stakeholder relationships at once.
