Risk Manager - Crypto Asset Services

About the role

Direct Crypto Limited, a newly established entity at an advanced stage of applying for a MiCA-regulated Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license and part of the Wirex Holdings Ltd group, is looking for a hands-on Risk Manager. Reporting to the Chief Operating & Risk Officer, you will lead the development and ongoing management of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and ensure material risks are identified, assessed, monitored and mitigated. The role works closely with executive leadership, senior stakeholders and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain an ERMF aligned with MiCAR, CySEC requirements and the firm's strategy, including the risk appetite framework, KRIs, risk register and risk reporting
• Identify, assess, monitor and report material risks, and prepare risk reports for the Board, Management Board and governance committees
• Support regulatory oversight under MiCAR, AMLR, DORA and CySEC, including second-line oversight of AML/CFT, sanctions and customer due diligence
• Support regulatory licensing, filings, inspections and responses to supervisors, and escalate regulatory risks
• Manage operational risk, including process, people, technology and third-party risks, and contribute to operational resilience and business continuity
• Promote a strong risk culture and work with Compliance, Operations, Technology and Information Security

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years in a risk management role in a payments firm, EMI, bank, fintech or other regulated financial services environment
• Demonstrable experience with digital assets, crypto-asset services, payments or fintech
• Current residency in Cyprus is mandatory
• Preferred: previous experience in a MiCA, CASP, EMI or EU-regulated environment, familiarity with CySEC and CASP requirements, experience with DORA, ICT, outsourcing or third-party risk, and Greek language skills

Required skills

• Understanding of first- and second-line-of-defense responsibilities and risk governance
• Experience developing risk frameworks, risk registers, risk appetite frameworks, KRIs and risk reporting
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, and excellent written and verbal English
• Preferred: FRM, IRM, CAMS or equivalent certification
