MSCA Doctoral Network PhD Scholarship in Critical Infrastructure Resilience

About the role

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus offers a full‑time MSCA Doctoral Network PhD position within the European SPRING project (2026‑2030). The successful candidate will join the Electrical or Computer Engineering PhD programme and conduct cutting‑edge research on the resilience of large‑scale critical infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop anticipatory defence, automated diagnosis and real‑time risk‑aware response mechanisms for future critical infrastructures.
• Create a scalable library of resilience agents and training materials for energy, water and transport sectors.
• Advance Digital Twin technology to address scalability, interoperability and real‑time data integration challenges.
• Investigate LLM‑supported human‑interpretable diagnostics, explainable AI and adaptive self‑adaptation for rapid decision‑making.

Required profile

• Enrolment in the Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering PhD programme at the University of Cyprus.
• Ability to conduct research at the KIOS Centre of Excellence and participate in international mobility and secondments.
