Lead Payroll FOP Accountant

About the role

Forward is seeking an experienced Lead Payroll FOP Accountant to head a team responsible for full‑cycle management payroll, accounting automation and regulatory compliance across Ukraine, Cyprus and Poland. You will ensure accurate payroll processing, support budgeting and drive system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and control the full cycle of management payroll, bonuses and related payouts.
• Maintain accurate management accounting, prepare consolidated data for reporting and contribute to budgeting.
• Research and ensure compliance with tax legislation in Ukraine, Cyprus and Poland.
• Optimise accounting processes, write technical specifications for developers and support HR software implementation.
• Lead daily team operations, provide financial guidance and liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional experience in management accounting or finance.
• Proven leadership or team‑lead experience.
• Hands‑on experience managing payroll, taxes and compliance across multiple jurisdictions (Ukraine, Poland, Cyprus).
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Ukrainian tax laws (Private Entrepreneurs/FOP, Labour Code).
• Solid understanding of EU tax systems, specifically Cyprus and Poland.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets (complex formulas, pivot tables, large datasets).
• Experience with accounting systems such as 1C and MBC.
• Familiarity with modern HR software/HRIS.
