Senior Backend C++ Developer – Core Team

About the role

Scorewarrior, a Cyprus‑based game developer, is seeking a Senior Backend C++ Developer to join its Core team. You will help design and build the core backend components that power the flagship 4X strategy title Total Battle, ensuring simplicity, scalability and high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop core backend components and publish user‑friendly APIs with Doxygen documentation.
• Refactor existing modules, eliminate technical debt and isolate services.
• Prepare and review architectural decision records (ADRs) and RFCs, propose solutions and present them to the architectural board.
• Conduct code and design reviews for game mechanics.
• Write unit and integration tests, implement metrics, profile code and ensure observability.
• Plan, decompose and delegate sub‑tasks, evaluating outcomes.
• Develop tools and scripts to automate internal development processes.

Required profile

• 6+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of C++ or willingness to transition to it.
• Experience creating or reviewing architectural documentation (ADRs/RFCs).
• Solid understanding of SOLID, YAGNI/KISS/DRY principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with service‑oriented or command‑based architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with networking and concurrency (TCP/HTTP, gRPC/protobuf, thread pools, async/await).
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, InfluxDB or Grafana.
• English B1+ and Russian B2+ proficiency.
