Legal Compliance Officer (AML/CFT)

About the role

An established fiduciary company and ICPAC-licensed Administrative Services Provider (ASP) based in Nicosia, Cyprus is recruiting a Legal Compliance Officer. The role is open to a legal professional with experience in AML/CFT and regulatory compliance who wants to take responsibility for the company's overall compliance function.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the company's compliance function, ensuring adherence to Cyprus legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor AML/CFT policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conduct KYC, client onboarding and ongoing due diligence, and perform client risk assessments and enhanced due diligence where required.
• Carry out transaction monitoring and PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and meet annual reporting obligations.
• Maintain compliance records, documentation and internal registers.
• Ensure compliance with ICPAC requirements and assist with regulatory inspections, audits and requests from supervisory authorities.
• Identify compliance risks and recommend improvements to internal procedures.

Required profile

• Law degree (LLB) is a must.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in compliance within an ASP, fiduciary or corporate services environment.
• Practical experience with regulatory and annual compliance reporting.
• Familiarity with ICPAC inspections and the Cyprus regulatory framework.
• Excellent command of Greek and English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical, organisational and documentation skills.
• AML or Compliance certification and previous court experience are advantages.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary of €24,000, including 13th salary.
