Senior Operations Assistant (Movements)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Operations Assistant (Movements) to support its mission of humane and orderly migration in Nicosia, Cyprus. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the National Project Officer, you will supervise movement activities and ensure efficient transportation operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily movement operations and transportation logistics.
• Maintain and update movement‑related databases and systems such as iGATOR, MiMOSA, SAR, and Amadeus.
• Prepare operational reports, documentation, and statistical data for internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with governmental, intergovernmental and non‑governmental partners to ensure compliance with migration policies.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for movement‑related IT tools.

Required profile

• Six years of experience with secondary education or four years with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Prior experience in movement operations, transportation management, or related fields.
• Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral); knowledge of another IOM official language is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and internet research.
• Hands‑on experience with iGATOR, MiMOSA, SAR and Amadeus systems.
