Principal Streaming Technology Expert

About the role

Mayflower is a high‑load technology company serving millions worldwide. We are seeking a Principal Streaming Technology Expert to act as the senior technical authority on streaming technologies, guiding complex assessments, risk analysis, deep research, and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve complex technical questions related to streaming architectures, protocols, and implementations, producing evidence‑based positions and detailed reports.
• Research industry standards, publications, and emerging technologies; compare them with Mayflower’s solutions and conduct technical risk analyses.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture, protocols, data flows, algorithms, DRM, CDNs, and media pipelines, creating diagrams and historical records.
• Serve as the internal streaming authority, reviewing major architectural decisions, collaborating with senior engineers, and providing independent technical judgment.

Required profile

• Deep hands‑on knowledge of video/audio streaming architectures, protocols, codecs, CDNs, DRM and related technologies.
• Proven ability to independently analyze complex systems, standards, and production architectures.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Native or near‑native English proficiency.
• Experience with US‑based stakeholder reviews and preparing technical materials for external assessment is a plus.
