Performance Testing Expert Architect (k6)

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Testing Expert Architect with deep expertise in k6 to drive the performance, scalability and reliability of our high‑throughput trading platforms. The role is hands‑on, focusing on designing, implementing and analysing performance tests in a low‑latency environment while collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the company‑wide performance testing strategy.
• Develop, maintain and optimise reusable k6 test scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Execute load, stress and soak tests on REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Monitor test outcomes with Grafana and Prometheus and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in Spring Boot, JVM and microservice architectures.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Potentially mentor junior engineers as the role evolves.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on QA experience, including 2+ years in performance testing.
• Proven experience with k6 (or similar tools such as Gatling).
• Strong background in API performance testing (REST, GraphQL) and related concepts like rate limiting and caching.
