Head of Accounting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to lead our accounting team in Larnaca. You will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality, timely, and compliant accounting and tax processes for a portfolio of client companies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional and personnel leadership to an 8‑person accounting team, including planning, development and motivation.
• Oversee bookkeeping in line with Cypriot law, IFRS/GAAP and ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Supervise and approve VAT returns, VIES, OSS filings and other statutory submissions.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities and internal departments.
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls and software solutions.
• Offer advisory support on accounting and tax matters to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, Chartered Accountant) or advanced stage of qualification.
• 7‑10 years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership role.
• Recent experience in an accounting firm, strong VAT and payroll knowledge.
• Fluent in English and Greek.

Required skills

• Proficient use of accounting software such as E‑Soft or Odoo.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of Cypriot tax law, VAT, VIES, OSS and corporate tax.
