Chief, Operations and Resource Management

About the role

The United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) is seeking a senior leader to steer its Operations and Resource Management Pillar. Reporting to the Chief of Mission Support, the incumbent will ensure strategic coherence across human resources, finance, technology and procurement functions to support the mission’s mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall guidance, support and oversight for the Human Resources Section, Finance Resources and Performance Section, Field Technology Section and Procurement Section.
• Assist the Chief of Mission Support in setting strategic direction for mission support strategies and plans.
• Develop, coordinate and monitor risk‑mitigation strategies, work plans and resource allocation for administrative activities.
• Plan and forecast staffing, financial, logistics and technology requirements in collaboration with mission offices and UNHQ.
• Lead human‑resources management, ensuring policies, performance indicators and compliance align with the mission’s strategic framework.
• Oversee financial resource stewardship, business intelligence and risk management to support operational priorities.
• Direct the delivery of reliable information and communication technology (ICT) services for mission operations.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience managing multi‑disciplinary support functions in an international or UN‑type environment.
• Strong strategic planning, risk‑management and coordination skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with UN headquarters and align mission resources with global policies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
