Chief Accountant

About the role

Minthis Resort, a leading luxury destination in Cyprus, is looking for a Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function across its multiple entities. The role offers the chance to influence financial strategy in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department for all resort‑related entities.
• Ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations and review daily balances.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with Cyprus tax regulations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation.
• Maintain and improve accounting and financial systems.
• Provide financial analysis for budgeting, forecasting and strategic decision‑making.
• Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, banks and regulatory authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• Professional qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality, real estate or a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Cyprus tax/VAT regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
• Experience with ERP or hospitality/property management accounting systems.
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and management reports.
