Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

Grant Thornton is expanding its Tax Service Line and seeks an experienced Assistant Tax Manager to join a dynamic team. You will work with a diverse portfolio of local and international clients, delivering high‑quality tax advisory and compliance services while supporting the growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of local and international clients, ensuring timely delivery of tax compliance and advisory services.
• Plan, coordinate and execute tax consultancy assignments, providing practical, commercially‑focused advice.
• Review tax returns, computations and related deliverables for accuracy and quality.
• Support managers and partners on tax planning, restructurings and ad‑hoc advisory projects.
• Participate in client meetings, address queries and present tax solutions.
• Develop a deep understanding of clients' businesses, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver value‑added recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, auditors, regulators and other stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, risk management processes and engagement administration.
• Research technical tax matters and propose solutions to complex issues.
• Assist business development by identifying opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Mentor, coach and supervise junior team members, contributing to their development.
• Monitor work‑in‑progress, budgets, invoicing and collections to meet financial targets.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and business opportunities.

Required profile

• ACCA or ICAEW qualification.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant tax experience.
• Strong drive for success and continuous professional development.
