User Community Manager – Reddit & Discord

About the role

Mayflower is seeking a User Community Manager to build, nurture, and moderate trusted user communities on platforms such as Reddit and Discord. The role serves as a strategic bridge between the community and internal teams, turning user feedback into actionable insights that drive product and marketing decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and moderate the official subreddit and other user spaces, enforcing rules, removing spam, harassment, and scams, and de‑escalating conflicts.
• Foster an inclusive environment through recurring Q&As, AMAs, polls, guides, and pinned announcements.
• Evaluate, structure, and potentially launch a dedicated Discord community when strategically aligned.
• Establish a representative user research pool for surveys, interviews, focus groups, and beta testing.
• Synthesize community discussions into structured sentiment reports and actionable recommendations for Product, UX, and Marketing.
• Close the feedback loop by communicating product updates back to the community.
• Support product and campaign launches with proactive community messaging, user education, and reaction monitoring.
• Monitor emerging reputational, fraud, and legal risks and route cases to Support, Moderation, Risk, or Legal via established escalation pathways.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in community management, trust & safety, community operations, or user research, specifically on Reddit or Discord.
• Exceptional written English with strong conflict‑de‑escalation skills, high emotional maturity, and sound moderation judgment.
• Proven ability to turn qualitative feedback into structured data, clear themes, and actionable product insights.
• Strong privacy and escalation judgment for sensitive or regulatory issues, and the ability to work independently across global, multicultural user bases.
