VMware Virtualization Engineer

About the role

Freedom Finance Technologies is looking for a VMware Virtualization Engineer to join its Virtualization and Network Infrastructure team. The role focuses on operating, developing and modernising the production virtualization environment that supports trading and banking applications used by hundreds of thousands of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and develop production virtualization infrastructure based on VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter).
• Support high‑availability clusters and participate in incident resolution.
• Analyse and resolve technical issues related to hypervisor performance, network infrastructure and storage systems.
• Work with Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage, including zoning and multipathing.
• Collaborate with the network team to ensure proper operation of the virtualization environment.
• Participate in server hardware installation, connection and commissioning.
• Operate remote management systems such as iDRAC.
• Take part in infrastructure modernisation, migration and testing projects.

Required profile

• Experience administering VMware vSphere in a production environment.
• Understanding of VMware architecture, including ESXi scheduler, NUMA, memory management and storage subsystem.
• Experience with storage systems (Fibre Channel zoning, multipathing, latency analysis).
• Knowledge of networking technologies required for virtualization (VLANs, trunks, LACP, MTU/jumbo frames, L2/L3 basics).
• Understanding of KVM virtualization principles and differences from VMware.
• Experience with enterprise‑grade server hardware (Dell, Supermicro or similar).
• Experience with server remote management tools (iDRAC) for firmware updates and diagnostics.
• Strong independent troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving skills.
