Software Python Engineer (GPU Cloud)

About the role

Gcore is seeking a Software Python Engineer to build and operate Python services and APIs that manage the lifecycle of GPU virtual machines and bare‑metal servers in a large‑scale cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python APIs for provisioning, placement, maintenance, quarantine, and recovery of GPU resources.
• Integrate new GPU hardware into OpenStack and connect it with Gcore’s Kubernetes services.
• Automate host validation, image preparation, driver installation, and production‑readiness checks.
• Improve capacity tracking, scheduling, observability, testing, deployment safety, and operational tooling.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across control‑plane, hypervisors, networking, storage, and hardware.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience writing reliable, well‑tested production code.
• Strong Python skills with experience building APIs, backend services, or distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with OpenStack or a similar cloud control plane.
• Good understanding of Linux, networking, and compute virtualization.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes and containerised workloads.
