Senior DevOps Engineer - Trading Platforms

About the role

Join Pepperstone as a Senior DevOps Engineer focused on the core trading platform. You will design, build and maintain the infrastructure, automation and observability that enable rapid, reliable delivery of high‑frequency trading software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and self‑service platform tooling.
• Improve platform observability through centralized logging, metrics, tracing, alerting and operational runbooks.
• Drive automation and Continuous Delivery practices to enable fast, safe and reliable software releases.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Technical Leadership to enhance platform reliability, resilience and developer experience.
• Support production readiness through capacity planning, failover strategies, environment management and recovery tooling.
• Lead technical initiatives, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor engineers and promote best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong DevOps or SRE background.
• Passion for building reliable, scalable platforms that enable rapid engineering delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating across distributed teams.

Required skills

• Deep experience building cloud‑native infrastructure on AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (preferred) or CloudFormation.
• Observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or ELK.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, containers and modern DevOps practices.
• Designing highly available, secure and scalable production environments.
