Risk Manager

About the role

Freedom24 is seeking a hands‑on Risk Manager to strengthen its risk function within a brokerage environment. You will work closely with trading, IT and client‑facing teams to monitor and manage market, derivative and client exposure risks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all major risk types relevant to brokerage operations.
• Monitor client positions and the firm’s overall risk exposure in real time.
• Communicate margin requirements and risk events to clients.
• Decide on forced position reduction or liquidation when limits are breached.
• Analyze risk profiles of arbitrage, directional, and options‑based strategies.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the firm’s risk management framework and risk engine.
• Define technical requirements and collaborate with IT on automation and monitoring tools.

Required profile

• Higher education in mathematics, physics, engineering, quantitative finance or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Risk Manager within a brokerage, financial institution or trading firm.
• Deep understanding of derivatives, margin trading and market risk.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to make fast, well‑reasoned decisions under market stress.
• High accuracy, attention to detail and a results‑oriented mindset.
• English and Russian proficiency at B1+ level.

Required skills

• Quantitative competence in options and portfolio risk modelling.
• Solid understanding of Greeks and pricing parameters.
• Programming experience or ability to define technical specifications for developers.
