Research Engineer/Associate – Power Systems & Energy Storage

About the role

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence seeks two full‑time specialists (Research Engineer and Research Associate) to develop and apply models that quantify the resilience value of long‑duration energy storage (LDES) in renewable‑dominated power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mathematical and computational models of LDES to assess contributions to power system stability, flexibility and adequacy.
• Apply probabilistic risk and resilience assessment methods to quantify LDES value in mitigating operational shocks and cascading impacts.
• Validate models with real‑case studies and contribute to peer‑reviewed conference and journal publications.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions and manage day‑to‑day project tasks.
• Prepare reports, project deliverables and attend coordination meetings (both physical and online).
