Operations Director – Oceanic

About the role

The Operations Director is the senior operational leader for Oceanic’s merchant fleet business, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Based in Limassol, Cyprus, this role oversees a global operation of around 250 staff delivering catering, medical, marine services, crew wellbeing and training.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery performance across all merchant‑fleet service lines, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Build and maintain real‑time operational visibility across fleet, region, service line and cost.
• Manage global supplier and provider relationships, including contingency planning for challenging ports.
• Act as the operational escalation point, freeing the Managing Director from day‑to‑day issue resolution.
• Conduct structured assessments of end‑to‑end workflows, map current state and identify friction points.
• Design and implement standardized, scalable processes that reduce manual effort while preserving service quality.
• Develop operating procedures, handover protocols and quality standards to support consistent performance.

Required profile

• Full operational accountability for a large, global maritime operation.
• Second‑in‑command to the Managing Director, with authority to drive performance across multiple service lines.
• Experience leading a workforce of approximately 250 employees in a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to industrialise workflows and accelerate digitalisation initiatives.
