National Migration Health Physician – Health Assessment Programs

About the role
International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a qualified physician to lead health assessment programmes for migrants and refugees in Cyprus. Reporting to the Chief Migration Health Officer and the Chief of Mission, the role ensures daily operations of health projects and delivers comprehensive medical examinations, vaccinations, TB management and related services.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations of IOM health projects and ensure efficient delivery of medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing and vaccinations.
- Identify migrants’ health needs, record information accurately, and manage referrals to public and private healthcare facilities.
- Provide treatment for TB, sexually transmitted infections and support HIV counselling, while overseeing TB case management.
- Implement immunisation and presumptive treatment programmes in line with Cyprus public‑health guidelines.
- Maintain quality‑improvement systems, conduct audits, and report performance indicators using IOM SOPs and web‑based reporting tools.
Required profile
- University degree in Medicine from an accredited institution and a valid medical licence to practice in Cyprus.
- Minimum two years of post‑graduation clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting, with recent clinical posting within the last five years.
- Fluency in English and Greek (written and oral); additional IOM official language is an advantage.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience using spreadsheet and database applications.
- Ability to operate web‑based health management systems (e.g., MiMOSA).
