ML Engineer / Data Scientist (Recommendation Systems & Search)

About the role

Wisebits is looking for an ML Engineer/Data Scientist to design and scale recommendation and search solutions for a high‑traffic video‑hosting platform used by millions worldwide. You will turn research prototypes into production services that directly impact personalization, ranking and text‑to‑video search.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve user‑item, item‑item and cross‑platform recommendation algorithms.
• Optimize content feeds on category, channel and tag pages.
• Build text‑to‑video search pipelines, including embedding models, ranking and semantic retrieval.
• Convert ML prototypes into production‑ready services: inference optimization, profiling, feature engineering and model quality monitoring.
• Implement high‑throughput ML services in Python using gRPC and Triton Inference Server.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience with recommendation systems, search or related ML tasks.
• Strong command of Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, CatBoost).
• Proven track record of deploying models to production environments.
• Understanding of offline and online model evaluation metrics.
