Middle Office Officer

About the role

Second line of defence over the firm’s trading portfolio, providing independent verification of trades, daily risk monitoring and reconciliation across OTC fixed‑income and derivatives positions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliation of trade orders vs. executed confirmations (ISIN, price, notional, counterparty, settlement date) and investigate and resolve breaks.
• Monitor fixed income risk parameters such as DV01, modified duration, spread duration and yield sensitivities.
• Track derivatives risk metrics including VaR, delta and gamma and escalate limit breaches to the CRO.
• Verify compliance with position limits, single‑name concentration limits and counterparty credit limits.
• Monitor aggregate counterparty exposures, margin calls and collateral movements.
• Conduct independent P&L verification against front‑office marks and produce daily risk reports for risk committee packs.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience in a financial institution; middle‑office experience is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of fixed‑income analytics (DV01, duration, yield curves) and derivatives risk metrics.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Bloomberg Terminal proficiency.
• Knowledge of MiFID II, EMIR and CySEC regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with Calypso, Murex or similar systems (nice to have).
