Laboratory Service Engineer (R&D)

About the role

Lam Research is seeking a Laboratory Service Engineer to support its applications lab, where cutting‑edge etch and deposition equipment is developed and demonstrated. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of sophisticated semiconductor hardware in a clean‑room environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, upgrades and calibrations on R&D equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and vacuum systems.
• Handle hazardous gases and liquids safely using required PPE.
• Collaborate with process development, hardware and software teams on demos and customer projects.
• Install, commission and document prototype equipment, creating procedures and support materials.
• Communicate priorities and status across dynamic and routine tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven experience troubleshooting electrical, electro‑mechanical, fluidic and vacuum systems.
• Ability to work safely in a clean‑room environment and wear appropriate protective equipment.
• Experience in the semiconductor industry or familiarity with Lam products is a plus.
