Infrastructure Tech Lead – Infra Core

About the role

Deel is seeking an Infrastructure Tech Lead to join its Infra Core team. This staff‑level technical leadership position does not involve direct people management, but you will be the most senior technical voice for a small team of engineers, guiding direction while staying hands‑on.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical roadmap for the application layer, ensuring services are built, observed, and scaled effectively.
• Design, implement, and maintain the control plane, tooling, and infrastructure primitives used by hundreds of engineers.
• Stay close to architecture, code, and infrastructure, providing deep technical expertise.
• Raise the technical bar across the team by mentoring peers and shaping best‑practice standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align infrastructure initiatives with product goals.

Required profile

• Staff‑level technical leader with a strong hands‑on background.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction without formal people‑management responsibilities.
• Experience working on large‑scale, distributed systems and application‑layer infrastructure.
• Proven track record of delivering reliable, observable, and scalable services.
