Head of Reconciliation

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Reconciliation to design, build and lead a best‑in‑class reconciliation function for a leading payment orchestration platform. You will ensure accurate, transparent transaction flows across multiple PSPs, acquirers, payment methods and settlement systems, providing clear financial visibility to internal teams and merchants.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead an end‑to‑end reconciliation function covering transactions, payouts, fees and PSP‑reported settlement data.
• Develop reconciliation logic for time‑lagged reporting, rolling reserves and aggregated settlement data.
• Implement automated matching rules, tolerance thresholds and exception handling workflows.
• Ensure reconciliation across transaction‑level, provider‑level and settlement/balance data layers.
• Define data‑normalisation and mapping frameworks for diverse PSP reporting formats.
• Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies such as missing transactions, timing delays, fee inconsistencies and FX differences.
• Build dashboards and reporting tools to give visibility into reconciliation status and data gaps.
• Maintain strong controls, audit trails and governance processes.
• Collaborate with PSPs and partners to improve data availability and reporting quality.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in reconciliation, payments operations, finance or fintech.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, including transactions, refunds, payouts, fees and non‑1:1 reconciliation scenarios.
• Experience working with PSPs, acquirers or payment platforms in multi‑provider environments.
• Proven track record designing or managing large‑scale reconciliation processes.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to work on high‑volume transaction data.
• Experience with data normalisation and mapping.
