Fleet Procurement Officer

About the role

The Fleet Procurement Officer ensures that vessels receive authorised stores, spares and other products promptly, within budget and in line with company procedures and marine policies. The role supports the Fleet Superintendent across all fleet operations, prioritising safety, customer satisfaction and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process office and vessel requisitions in the company system according to Fleet Superintendent instructions and annual commitments.
• Obtain, verify and present quotations from approved suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policy.
• Maintain knowledge of approved suppliers, coordinate with Fleet Cell Liaison Managers and promote suitable solutions.
• Manage the pick‑up, storage and last‑mile delivery of ship spares, maximising consolidation opportunities.
• Communicate shipment details to vessels and appointed agents, track orders until delivery on‑board and resolve any supply discrepancies.
• Receive, check and forward invoices to the Accounts Department for payment.
• Provide out‑of‑office support for urgent situations when required.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in business or related field; previous experience in marine purchasing is desirable.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, both verbal and electronic.
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and use company software systems.
