Engineering Manager

About the role

TradingView is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of its core backend teams. You will shape the architecture of distributed systems, translate business needs into technical tasks, and mentor a growing group of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze feature requests, validate them, and turn them into clear technical requirements aligned with product goals.
• Collaborate with other development teams to ensure proper integration and reliable delivery.
• Define technical approaches with the project manager and align on timelines.
• Participate in hiring, conduct technical interviews, and onboard new developers.
• Oversee design and development of backend and frontend components, ensuring architectural consistency.
• Conduct code reviews and help evolve engineering practices.
• Hold regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and support professional growth.
• Work with DevOps on release processes and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• 2+ years in a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager role.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns and network protocols.
• Clear grasp of the full software development lifecycle.
• English proficiency (B1+) and strong command of Russian.

Required skills

• Backend development in Go or Java.
• Designing APIs and microservice architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
• Working with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Distributed systems design patterns.
• Network protocols.
